Life Story
Ismail Yeser (born October 16, 1990) is a Turkish musician, composer, and lyricist.
He was born in Doğantepe neighborhood of Altındağ district in Ankara. During his primary school years, his family moved to Sincan, where he began his education.
His interest in music manifested itself at a young age. His talent, noticed in music lessons in primary school, was further reinforced with the guidance of his teacher. Again in middle school, during a self-confidence activity in Social Studies class, his singing in class led his Social Studies teacher to find his voice quite effective and to foresee that he should pursue this field in the future.
Aware of his passion for music, his father Zekeriya Yeşer, who worked as a carpenter in the military, nurtured his love of music at a young age by buying him a 29-key organ. İsmail Yeşer received his first bağlama (a Turkish stringed instrument) when he was sixteen. Just a year later, the shock of losing his father suddenly caused him to neglect music for a long period.
Over the years, İsmail Yeşer, who gradually turned back to music, discovered his identity as a composer, in addition to playing and singing the works he loved. He began writing his own lyrics and recording his compositions. He completed his university education in Computer Technologies and Programming at Erciyes University. During this time, he developed his musical identity by working with instruments such as guitar, violin, and ney. He is also a graduate of the Economics Department at Anadolu University.
Known for his dedication to music as well as his calm demeanor and people-oriented, problem-solving approach, Yeşer worked in various jobs after university. He then pursued a career as a graphic designer in the outdoor advertising sector. One of his notable achievements in this field is reporting a software vulnerability he discovered in Corel Draw to the developers, leading to a global update.
He married Derya Özşenol in 2014, and they have two daughters. He completed his military service as a short-term sergeant at the Samsun Infantry Training Battalion Command. After his discharge, he continued to work actively in the advertising sector.
Never detached from music, İsmail Yeşer took his work in this field to a professional level in his thirties with his own music company, iSo Music. His first song, "Ağlama" (Don't Cry), was released in 2023. This was followed by the singles "Varında Yoğunda" (In Your Presence) and "Ben Senin İçin" (For You) in June 2024. In April 2024, he appeared as a live guest on Ostim Radio, performing his own songs and playing and singing folk songs with his bağlama (a Turkish stringed instrument). This marked his first public appearance. In October 2024, he composed and released a song based on Karacaoğlan's poem "Ağlayı Ağlayı" (Crying and Crying). Yeşer, who released a single titled "Bi Kahve" (A Coffee) in 2025, continues his songwriting efforts.
He creates music on themes such as love, romance, longing, loss, past, future, hope, joy, and self-discovery.
